An intentional life, inside motherhood.
Not after the chaos clears. Right here, in the middle of it.
Motherhood is the most beautiful thing I’ve done. It’s also trying and intense, sometimes in the same hour.
I’ve been an anxious mom. And somewhere in those early weeks I realized two things at once: I did not want to lose myself inside motherhood, and I didn’t want to wait for some calmer season to start living beautifully again. I believe you can build a life you love while you’re in the middle of it. The wellness that actually helps. A home that actually feels good. Style that fits the season you’re in. The small, intentional choices that add up to a life well made.
But here’s the part nobody puts on a checklist: you were never meant to do this alone. What has carried me through this season is other mothers. When our son was brand new, a woman I hadn’t spoken to since college found out I’d just had a baby and reached out: “Let me know if I can get groceries for you.” It blew my mind then and it still does. That’s what mothers do for each other.
That’s what Well Made Mom is: a home for women building thoughtful, beautiful lives through the chaos, not after it. I want to be a mom friend to you. The one who tells you the honest version, shares what actually worked, and reminds you that this season can be yours and beautiful at the same time.
And when it comes to the stuff: the short list.
Because part of building an intentional life is deciding what you let into your home. I know, because I bought it all. The registry said I needed it, the lists said I needed it, and a few months in I was standing in a house so full of baby things that the clutter itself became one more thing to manage. Here’s what I believe now: most of what a new baby needs is a fed, rested, supported mother, and a short list of things that truly work. So when I recommend something here, these are the rules:
I only recommend what we use all the time. The “I’m so glad I have this” things. If we touched it twice and abandoned it, you’ll hear that too.
I’d buy it again at full price. Our SNOO came to us secondhand for a fraction of retail, and I would pay full price for it tomorrow without blinking. That’s the bar a product has to clear.
When something didn’t earn its place, I say so. What we returned, what we gave away, what worked for us but might not for you. Your money matters and I’m not here to spend it carelessly.
I never link anything I don’t believe in. I lean toward quality and intention: things that are made well, ideally clean and organic, that actually move the needle in a mother’s day.
Welcome to Well Made Mom. Come build your version alongside mine. I’m so glad you’re here.
